Eight (8) Cagayan MSMEs joined the more than 50 exhibitors from the region’s 5 provinces that converged under one roof, at Robinson’s Mall, Santiago City, showcasing each province’s best-known OTOP products. Lighthouse Cooperative, Barako Boy Coffee, Lumaban Leathercraft & Footwear, Alcala Women’s RIC MPC, LGU-Tuguegarao, Punta Fisherfolks Association, Evergold Food Products Toribio’s Food Products displayed the unique OTOP products that uniquely represent their respective LGUs’ One Town One Product. The combined gross sales of the Cagayan exhibitors amounted to P420,834.
This year’s Regional Trade Fair revolved around the region’s OTOP theme, Padday na Lima or hand-crafted products. The RTF is a major part of the ONE DTI Services Week that was held in Santiago City from April 25-30, 2016.
The Indigenous People Community composing a combination of Igorot and Ibaloi Tribes in Brgy. Sanguit Dupax Del Sur skills upgrading on soft broom making on April 11-15, 2016 at the Barangay Hall of Sanguit, Dupax Del Sur. In attendance to the 5-day training were 27 (2 males and 25 females) pre-selected beneficiaries who are actually engaged in soft broom making.
Two MSMEs from Cagayan were able to generate a combined sale of Php 576,960.00 in the recently concluded Manila FAME which was held on April 21-24, 2016 at the World Trade Center, Pasay City. Espacio Interior Designs of Tuguegarao City is second top seller of region 2 with sales amounting to Php389,000 while NM Carag Furniture and Woodcraft of Baggao, Cagayan generated Php 187,000.
