The Regional Extension Unit of the Employees Compensation Commission (ECC), an attached agency of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), requested the Cagayan Negosyo Center to conduct an entrepreneurial development training for 14 Persons with Work-Related Disabilities (PWRDs). The training is a component of the ECC’s Katulong at Gabay sa Manggagawang may Kapansanan or KaGabay program which assists PWRDs to become productive members of the society through the conduct of skills and entrepreneurial trainings and other rehabilitative services. After the training, the participants will be eligible to receive financial assistance to put up their chosen micro-enterprises.
Mr. Winston T. Singun, Business Development Division Chief and Negosyo Center Coordinator served as trainer in the entrepreneurial training that was held on May 4, 2016 at the DOLE Regional Office.
The Nueva Vizcaya State University, Bambang Campus – Food Processing Center provided trainors and served as the venue for the food processing training for the housewives and out-of-school youth beneficiaries of the Rural Micro Enterprise Promotion Program funded under the 2015 BuB Project of Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya on April 4-7, 2016. The four-day activity is composed of three different food processing trainings namely: 1. fruits and vegetables processing; 2. fish processing and; 3. breads and pastry making. The participants in each training were distinct from the others, thus maximizing the number housewives and out-of-school youths who may be benefited from the project.
