Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Batanes, represented by Liz Minerva F. Raterta, Trade and Industry Development Specialist (TIDS); and Analyn M. Villa, Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) Personnel, attended the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) re-orientation seminar held at the Department of Agriculture (DA)-Batanes Experiment Station (DA-BES) in Basco, Batanes last May 12-14, 2015.

Regional Project Coordinator Office (RPCO) 2 Focal Person Mr. Lucrecio R. Alviar, Jr., graced the activity and gave updates and an overview of the PRDP.

As part of the seminar, a review of Batanes Value Chain Analysis and Provincial Commodity Investment Plan was conducted.

The PRDP is a national government platform that aims to increase productivity, incomes and competitiveness in the countryside by establishing partnership with LGUs in providing infrastructures, facilities, technologies as well as information. It is designed for inclusive, value-chain and market-oriented agri-fishery sector.

Meanwhile, a re-orientation for Batanes Provincial Project Management Implementing Unit (PPMIU), National Government Agencies (NGA) and Non-Government Organizations (NGO) also transpired.
