The Sikat Pinoy National Food Fair held at SM Megamall, Megatrade Halls 1-3, Mandaluyong City on March 25-29, 2015 has provided region 02 rising Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises  (MSMEs ) wider opportunity to  expand their network linkages.

The five (5) day event was organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) through the Bureau of Export Trade and Promotion and in cooperation with DTI’s Regional and Provincial Offices. 

A total of 138 exhibitors from all over the country participated in the event were given the opportunity to display their distinct and most famous products to a larger-scale of market available for wholesale and/or bulk buying arrangements. 

Various freshly produced drinks, beverages and processed foods manufactured by MSMEs from all over the country were displayed during the event. Product sampling and cooking demonstrations were also conducted by celebrity chef - Chef Boy Logro, San Miguel Foods, Gardenia Bakeries Phils., Sysu Int'l Inc., Salinas Foods and Spices and Foodmix House.

For region 02, among the MSME exhibitors participated were Lighthouse Cooperative, Alcala Women’s RIC MPC, Norphil Healthy Foods Corporation, and JBM Food Products.

Among the Saleable products offered were chicharabao (Lighthouse Cooperative), roasted in-shell peanuts (Alcala Women’s RIC MPC), turmeric herbal salted eggs and charcoal briquette ( JBM  Food Products) and calamansi juice( Norphil Healthy Foods Corporation).

Buyers were families who are mostly Chinese, couples, and employees from government and corporate offices. Some of the buyers ordered in bulk to be displayed in their store outlets in Manila and suggested that their products should be made available in Metro Manila. 

Various institutional buyers also visited the Fair such as Robinson’s Supermarket represented by their Vice President, Ms. Daisy Lyn Sy and their consolidators, DMC Enterprise, an exporter in Hongkong, Bicol best and Island’s Pasalubong.
