The Isabela State University in Echague (ISU-E) is now implementing the “Greening Rural Dairy Industry Value Chain Towards Economic and Environmental Sustainability in Region 02 Project” in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry Region 02.

The project aims to increase and improve the productivity, quality and safety of dairy industry products by utilizing cost-efficient environment technologies and practices across the different components of the dairy industry value chain, such as reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through the use of green corn for silage, vermin-composting, solar panels for renewable energy source, e-tricycles for delivery of products, among others.

Updates on the project’s implementation were discussed during the 2018 1st Dairy Cluster Meeting held on April 17, 2018 at the NERBAC Conference Room, DTI Regional Office, Carig Sur, Tuguegarao City which was attended by the Dairy Industry Cluster stakeholders including representatives of regional line agencies. The meeting was an opportunity for renewed vigor and enthusiasm in the convergence of interventions, assistance and information to further develop the dairy industry in Region 02.
