Bayombong – Pursuant to Republic Act 7277, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Office conducted a Seminar on Basic Accounting and Bookkeeping on September 20, 2017 at the Senior Citizens Hall, Diadi, Nueva Vizcaya for the members of the Diadi Persons with Special Abilities (ADPERSA).
The Local Government of Diadi has awarded the said group with a seed capital of PhP500,000.00 to start a grocery store last December 2016. To properly manage this business, officers of the said group opted to tap the assistance of Diadi Negosyo Center to guide them in properly recording their day-to-day transactions and financial management.
During the seminar proper, Mr. Rogie B. Alcesto, OIC head of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, lead the invocation; DTI Nueva Vizcaya OIC PD Henry O. Conel, Jr. welcomed the participants; followed by an inspiring opening message from Hon. Froilan T. Madume, Municipal Councilor of Diadi. Mr. Reymar O. Manzano, Business Counsellor – Diadi Negosyo Center, also shared the Negosyo Center’s programs and services to further inform the participants.
Mr. Roel P. Dolaypan Jr., Senior Trade and Industry Development Specialist of the Department of Trade and Industry-Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Office, was the resource speaker for the said seminar.
Mr. Dolaypan discussed the definitions of technical terms in accounting and bookkeeping, history, role of accounting and bookkeeping in their business and in the local economy, accounting equation, introduction to debit and credit and the accounting cycle. The participants were also given an simulated work activity to apply what they learned from the lecture.

Further interventions in the areas of business management are also lined up for the said group this coming October 2017.
