The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 2 launched the KAPATID Mentor Me (KMME) Program batch 2 on September 12, 2017 held at the Dea Miles Function Hall, Dubinan West, Santiago City which gathered around 143 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from the provinces of Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Cagayan, and Isabela.

Part of the launching were lectures of Module 1: Entrepreneurial Mind-setting and Values Formation and Module 2: Marketing, and conduct of a Business Consultation.

Resource speakers who were invited to discuss Module 1 and Module 2 were Ms. Zarah Jane D. Juan, President of Greenlife Ecobags Inc. and Mr. John P. Lanot, President of Pino Group of Concepts Inc., respectively.

Ms. Zarah Jane D. Juan shared her experiences and entrepreneurial journey in attaining business success. She emphasized the importance of having a positive mindset in determining the success of a business. She said that positive mindset entails having passion, self-discipline, and upholding integrity in all business transactions.

According to her, Business is not all about money or profit; it’s all about the legacy that an entrepreneur leaves behind by giving back to the community.

Meanwhile, for the Module 2, Mr. John P. Lanot discussed about the importance of having a powerful brand name to effectively promote a product or service. He discussed the four (4) Ps in marketing namely: Product, Price, Placement, and Promotions.

Mr. Lanot encouraged the participants to maximize the presence of free social media platforms in promoting their products. He also said that product packaging and labeling as well as customer service are important in marketing product or services.

Among the participants present during the launching were DTI Region 2 OIC Regional Director Ruben B. Diciano, DTI Region 2 Provincial Directors, and representatives from Regional Line Agencies, Local Government Units, Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship Marketing Officer, and some DTI personnel.

For the 1st batch of KMME Program in region 2, about 116 mentees has successfully completed the program.
