In a Meeting held on June 29-30, 2017 at the DTI NERBAC Conference Room, the designated Local Economic and Investment Promotion Officers (LEIPOs) and members of the Technical Working Group (TWG), committed to produce a booklet type of investment brochure, develop an investment AVP, and create or update their official investment website. These promotion collaterals shall be used to stir awareness among prospective investors, both foreign and local, on the investment opportunities and preferred areas of investment in their respective localities.

As a springboard or guide in their production of promo collaterals, Ms. Mary Ann C. Dy, CTIDS, discussed the important role of the LGUs in investment promotion. She also presented a Board of Investment (BOI) Guideline in producing investment brochures. The Investment Audio-Video Presentation (AVP) of Negros Occidental was also played for viewing as a possible benchmark tool in producing their AVPs. Some of the participants presented existing brochures and AVPs in their LGUs and were subjected for critiquing by the participants themselves. Generally, the AVPs presented were Tourism materials.

Despite the enormous investment attractions and economic advantage of the Cagayan Valley Region, investments have remained elusive in this part of the country. Region 02 remains lagging behind many other regions as primary choice for investments. One significant reason for this is the lack of awareness of investors on the investment potentials or offerings of this region.

During their meeting on April 25, 2017, the LEIPOs recognized the urgent need to produce updated promo collaterals to help in the extensive promotion of the region and to attract domestic and foreign investors. The group, representing the five Provincial and four City governments of Region 02, committed to finish the promotion collaterals by the end of August 2017 in time for the launching during the Regional Investment Forum and Business Matching.

Meanwhile, the DTI-Regional Office is in the process of producing a regional Investment brochure and AVP.
