On June 27, 2017, seventeen (17) members of the Bangaan Rural Workers Association, Inc. underwent an Upgrading Skills Training on Cacao Processing in Brgy. Bangaan, Solano, Nueva Vizcaya.
This skills training was conducted by the Department of Trade and Industry- Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Office thru its Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) in collaboration with the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR). It aims to improve the texture and taste of the existing cacao product lines of the organization namely: Cacao Polvoron and Cacao Tablea. In addition, a new product was also developed which is the cacao pancake.
Ms. Marietta G. Saet served as the trainer for the upgrading skills training on cacao processing. The trainer reminded the participants on the importance of good manufacturing practices (GMP). It was reiterated that cleanliness of the working area and the stockroom must be assured to avoid food contamination that can cause illness to the consumer of the product.
Additional skills training was requested by the clients to enhance their capabilities in cacao processing.
