On its 12th year, Nueva Vizcaya’s Provincial Trade Fair in Metro Manila goes back to Alabang which had a successful run last August 24-31, 2014.

The annual event is jointly organized by the Department of Trade and Industry Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Office and the Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya through the Provincial Cooperative Affairs Office (PCAO) in cooperation with the Nueva Vizcaya Entrepreneurs Association, Inc. (NVEAI).

This year’s fair generated total sales of Php 5,963,644.00 from 23 exhibitors at the eight (8) day fair at  the Carousel Court, Festival Supermall in Alabang, Muntinlupa.  This is the first year that the fair did not include guest exhibitors.

In her inspirational message, Governor Ruth Raña Padilla highlighted, among others, the importance of consumers being aware of product origins.

Nueva Vizcaya is the only province in Region 02 and one of the few provinces in the country that conducts Provincial Trade Fairs in Metro Manila.

Throughout the years, the annual event has become a market testing ground for Vizcaya products and Festival Supermall in Alabang has proven to be the right market niche for these.

Seventeen percent  (17%) or 4 of the 23 exhibitors were first-timers while 74% or 17 exhibitors have participated in other local trade fairs.

Products displayed include furniture, fresh fruits and vegetables, processed food gifts and home decors. Fruit sales were good especially the dragon fruit sales.  Unfortunately stock was limited.  Yacon also continued to be a much sought after product of Nueva Vizcaya especially with its very competitive price of only Php 60/kilo.  Next year will provide better opportunities for the fresh fruit sector.
